  After having to jump-start my vehicle several times during the past few months I figured there must be a problem with the battery I recently bought from Canadian Tire. I arrived at the service desk and my issue was received by a couple of staff members who issued me a cold corporate policy regarding battery tests. After some discussion I was introduced to the service manager who was very professional and genuinely wanted to help. While I wasn't willing to remove the battery from the vehicle (I had no tools and it's not an easy job given the battery location) and carry it into the store, I quickly learned to appreciate the manager's point of view on how they handle these warranty issues. We met in the middle and I brought the vehicle to the service bay door and he carried out a small testing device. The hand-held unit diagnosed my battery in about 5 minutes time. It appeared that a loose connection on the terminals might have been the culprit. The service manager's efforts were exemplary and as he noted, were, unfortunately, outside of the companies' standard operating procedure. Great service is what keeps a customer loyal to a service garage. Hopefully the Canadian Tire location will reconsider its policy on how it diagnosis car batteries. Regardless, the service manager was responsible for making my day.

  Very impressed by the actual customer service at this store tonight. All of the associates I dealt with tonight were all helpful. It is refreshing to walk into a store and be treated so properly for a change. What makes it so much better is that it was basically at closing time and my experience is usually the attitude of its the end of my day go away. Kudos to the manager for hiring star amazing staff.
